With nearly four decades in the insurance industry—over 30 years dedicated to Marine Claims—Patrick J. Nathan is a highly respected figure in the field. His expertise spans across Marine Cargo, Hull, Trade Credit, Bailee’s, and Carriers Liability claims, making him a go-to specialist for complex and high-value cases.
Patrick previously led claims operations for one of Malaysia’s top insurers, handling both local and international claims with strategic coordination and technical precision.
His extensive experience ensures that every claim is managed with efficiency, integrity, and full compliance with global standards.
Beyond claims management, Patrick is also a passionate technical trainer, regularly conducting sessions on Marine Cargo Insurance for clients, intermediaries, and internal teams. His hands-on involvement in risk improvement, loss prevention, and claims surveys further strengthens his comprehensive understanding of the marine insurance landscape.

Wan Mohd Amir Bin W. Musa

Wan Mohd Amir have been trained to adapt to any circumstances or job and thanks to his 19 years of working experience in marine industry. He began his career as navigating deck officer with MISC Berhad aboard an LNG carriers. Afterward, in 2011, he was given the opportunity to join the conversion team for the first LNG Floating Storage Unit in Keppel Shipyard Benoi and later commissioned the unit in Sungai Udang LNG Regasification Terminal. He then sailed onboard Offshore Support Vessel in 2015 before accepting for an onshore employment as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) in 2016. He was then offered a position of Operation Manager in 2019 to manage the company’s and its vessel’s operational issue.
In MIMC, he was appointed as Manager- Hull & Machinery where he involved in various marine inspections including P&I and H&M Loss prevention survey for several insurers such as MMIA, QBE and PNI Malaysia. He is also actively involved in insurer-assigned claim and responsible for a variety of marine insurance claim including Goods in Transit (GIT) and Marine Open Cover (MOC) for insurers like AXA Affin, AmGeneral Insurance, Lonpac, Etiqa General Insurance and many more.
Liau Ruishan

Liau Ruishan began his insurance career in 2011 as a non-motor loss adjuster, gaining extensive experience in investigating and assessing a wide range of general insurance claims. He later specialised in marine insurance, building expertise in marine cargo and liability claims from both loss adjusting and insurer perspectives.
Having served with leading insurers, including MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd. and Zurich General Insurance Malaysia Berhad, Liau has managed complex marine and liability claims involving claims investigation, policy interpretation, liability assessment, and loss evaluation.
With over a decade of industry experience, Liau brings strong technical knowledge, practical insight, and a comprehensive understanding of marine insurance and liability claims, enabling him to deliver efficient, accurate, and client-focused claims solutions.
Ramsey Henry

Ramsey Henry completed his Business Studies – CBS from Stamford college in July 1997.In February 1998 to March 2002 he started with Harbour shipping & forwarding agency as a Forwarding Clerk.
From May 2002 – December 2002 he was with AIG Insurance Agency as Insurance Trainee.
He started as a Marine surveyor on 2nd January 2003, 20 years’ experience with Maritime Consultant and Cargo Surveyor.
In Malayan International Marine Consultants Sdn Bhd, he was appointed as Assistant Manager for H&M and Marine Insurance.
Franklyn Vun Yik Chiat
Branch Manager – Kuching

Franklyn Vun Yik Chiat is the Branch Manager of Malayan Adjustment Company Sdn. Bhd.’s Kuching Branch, overseeing branch operations, loss adjusting assignments, and client relationships across Sarawak.
A graduate with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Forensic Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a holder of the Certificate of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (CMII), Franklyn combines scientific expertise with extensive loss adjusting experience in property, fire, liability, engineering, and motor claims.
Throughout his career, he has managed major commercial and industrial losses involving fire, flood, machinery breakdown, contractors’ all risks, engineering, liability, and financial lines claims. His expertise in forensic investigation, policy interpretation, and complex loss assessment enables him to deliver practical, professional, and client-focused claims solutions.

Hisham Adam began his career at an international insurance firm in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 as a Business Development Executive specialising in life insurance, agency building and agent recruitments. He became a Loss Adjuster in 2008. After many more roles as both Business Development Manager and Loss Adjuster, he joined Sedgwick Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (previously Cunningham Lindsey) as a Senior Loss Adjuster in 2017 and later promoted to Assistant Manager in 2020 with vast training experience ranging from engineering, business interruptions, marine, property commercial and personal lines, to TPBI.
Mohamad Azim Bin Miswan
Assistant Manager (Marine Department) – Johor Bahru
Mohamad Azim completed his Diploma in Marine Cargo Surveying at Ranaco Industries in 2012 and began his career as a Marine Surveyor with Link’s Survey, Port Klang, where he gained hands-on experience in marine cargo and vessel surveys.
He later joined Boyd Marine Consultants Sdn. Bhd., Johor Bahru, specialising in Protection & Indemnity (P&I) surveys and marine casualty investigations. During his tenure, he handled a wide range of insurance-related survey assignments, further strengthening his expertise in marine claims and risk assessment.
In 2020, Mohamad Azim joined Malayan International Marine Consultants Sdn. Bhd. as a Senior Marine Surveyor & Adjuster. Recognised for his technical expertise and commitment to service excellence, he was promoted to Assistant Manager – Hull & Machinery (H&M) and Marine Insurance at the Johor Bahru Branch in 2026. His extensive field experience enables him to deliver professional and reliable marine surveying and insurance solutions.
Pravin Tharamadurai
Manager (Non-Motor Claims)
Pravin Tharamadurai holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering and began his career as an Electrical Engineer in the offshore oil and gas industry, where he gained valuable experience in industrial manufacturing, electrical systems, project execution, and quality management.
He joined Malayan Adjustment Company Sdn. Bhd. in 2021 as a Loss Adjuster and, through his strong technical capabilities and diverse claims experience, progressed to Senior Loss Adjuster before assuming his current role as Manager (Non-Motor Claims).
Pravin has handled a broad spectrum of non-motor insurance claims, including Fire and Special Perils, Industrial All Risks, Machinery Breakdown, Contractors’ All Risks, Public Liability, and engineering-related losses across various industries. He has also played key roles in major catastrophe assignments, including the 2021 Great Klang Valley Flood, the 2025 Northern Perlis Flood, and the independent review of earthquake-related losses in Türkiye on behalf of an international reinsurer. His engineering expertise and practical claims experience enable him to deliver technically sound, independent, and client-focused loss adjusting services.

Benjamin Roy has extensive experience in loss adjusting and insurance claims management, beginning his career with an international loss adjusting firm specialising in engineering-related claims, including boiler fire investigations and engineering losses. He later expanded his expertise across a broad range of non-motor claims throughout Johor.
Throughout his career, Benjamin has managed major corporate accounts, provided risk improvement recommendations to insurers, and handled complex claims involving Machinery Breakdown, Contractors’ and Erection All Risks, Equipment, and Jewellers Block. He also played a key role in establishing branch operations in Melaka, leading both motor and non-motor teams while conducting risk surveys, technical training, and collaborating with insurers on risk assessment initiatives.
Benjamin later served as Southern Region Claims Head at Tokio Marine Insurans, overseeing claims operations across Johor and Melaka. His extensive experience in claims management, risk evaluation, fraud support, and insurer engagement enables him to deliver practical, technically sound, and client-focused claims solutions across a wide range of insurance disciplines.
Nazirul Akmal

Nazirul Akmal graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2012. Following his graduation, he gained valuable experience across various organisations and industries, which enabled him to develop a broad range of technical knowledge, adaptability, and professional expertise.
In 2022, he joined Malayan Adjustment Company Sdn. Bhd., where he has continued to strengthen his expertise in investigations, analytical assessment, report writing, and case management. Over the past four (4) years, he has consistently demonstrated sound judgment, meticulous attention to detail, professionalism, and strong leadership in managing complex investigations and mentoring his team.
In recognition of his commitment, leadership, and consistent performance, he was appointed as Manager, where he oversees motor claims operations and continues to drive service excellence and operational efficiency.
